The beautiful St. John River provides a pleasant sailing experience without the concern of channels, currents or tides. Several communities, towns, villages and attractions are easily accessible so that you can enjoy local shops, markets or even play a round of golf.

Located about 30 minutes from Fredericton, New Brunswick, Lakeway Houseboat Vacations is easily accessible to numerous locations in eastern Canada and the U.S.
 

Lakeway Houseboat Vacations offers three great models to choose from. Each houseboat includes:

• Fully-equipped kitchen that includes a stove, oven, refrigerator, utensils, dishes, glassware, pots and pans
• Bathroom with toilet, shower and sink
• Dining area
• Fireplace on larger model
• BBQ
• Deck chairs
• Safety equipment

Larger models may also include:

• Microwave
• Coffee maker
• Second bathroom with toilet and sink
• Fireplace
• Flatscreen television

• 3 day weekend
• 4 day mid-week
• 7 day week

Rental customers should have some experience operating boats and a boater operator card. Lakeway Houseboats will issue temporary cards at the marina but it is strongly recommended to obtain the card beforehand. The designated captain must be 21 years of age or older and hold a valid driver’s license.

You do not require a boating license (Pleasure Craft Operator Card) to rent a houseboat. Prior to departure you will be provided a safety checklist for review. Be sure to ask any questions if you are not sure. Once completed you will be issued a temporary license that is good for your trip. You will need to keep this document readily available if request by officials.

What to Bring

Linens are not provided. If you are unable to provided your own contact Lakeway Houseboats for ability to rent.

Small dogs that can stay in their cage while onboard are accepted. Swimming dogs that will go inside the boat are not accepted.

There are a number of additional costs that you should budget for during your vacation and will depend on the duration of your trip and the distance traveled. Each operator has different policies and should be discussed directly with them. Some costs to will or may include:
