Experience Required
Previous experience is not required. You will be provided detailed orientation on operating the houseboat, safety requirements, how to read maps, buoys and channel markets. You will be accompanied until your first stop to help you get tied up for the evening to ensure you are comfortable with the houseboat.
Licensing
You do not require a boating license (Pleasure Craft Operator Card) to rent a houseboat. Prior to departure you will be provided a safety checklist for review. Be sure to ask any questions if you are not sure. Once completed you will be issued a temporary license that is good for your trip. You will need to keep this document readily available if request by officials.

What to Bring
Linens
Linens are not provided. A bedding package is available that includes sheets, blankets, pillows and towels at a cost of $25 per person.
Pets
Yes, there is a $50 fee per pet. For those bringing pets into Canada, they must have a valid rabies vaccination certificate, signed and dated by a veterinarian issued within the preceding 36 months. The certificate must provide a sufficient description and detail in order to identify the pet.
Additional Costs
There are a number of additional costs that you should budget for during your vacation and will depend on the duration of your trip and the distance traveled. Each operator has different policies and should be discussed directly with them. Some costs to will or may include:
