Pleasure Craft Licence

In Canada, all powered watercraft, including houseboats, require a Pleasure Craft Licence. This free licence is easy to obtain and valid for 10 years.

You can apply online through Transport Canada or at Service Canada locations. You'll need proof of ownership and the hull identification number.

Keep your licence onboard at all times. It's also recommended to carry proof of insurance and have a boating safety kit.
