If you love to sail, explore and if you are a fishing enthusiast you will be happy to have come to CANUSA Vacations. Formerly (Camp CAN-USA) The resort is located on a 5.5 acre island centrally located in the hub of beautiful Lake Temagami, Ontario; nestled in the heartland of the Near North. It is easily accessible to the mainland yet is very private and peaceful. It’s a playground of unspoiled pine forests, hundreds of secluded islands, and crystal clear water. This enchanting region appeals to people of all ages.



Houseboats:

CANUSA Vacations offers luxurious fully-equipped 44-foot Three Buoys houseboats, each houseboat includes:

  • Mooring lines and anchors (front and rear)
  • Large life buoy
  • Dishes and cutlery for 10
  • Cooking utensils including full set of pots and pans
  • 10 adult life preserver jackets
  • Reserve of drinking water
  • First aid kit
  • Fire extinguishers (3)
  • Large cooler
  • Toilet paper
  • Garbage bags
  • Depth sounders / fish finders on upper and lower decks
  • Propane (for heat and barbecue)
  • Waterway navigational map
  • Fly swatter
  • Sun deck chairs (8) and loungers (2)
  • Dish soap, dish cloths, dish towels
  • 10 pillows and cases
  • TV/DVD (bring your movies)
  • Smoke detectors
  • Window screens throughout
  • Coffee pot (the type that goes on the stove – you don’t need filters)
  • 12 volt battery plug-in at the front of the boat – note that this is the only source of electrical power you have; there is no household-type electrical power

Rental Periods:

3 day rental midweek (Mon-Thur)           

4 day rental midweek (Mon-Fri)

Weekend rental (Fri-Sun)

Long-weekend rental (Fri-Mon or Thur-Sun)

6-day week rental (Mon-Sun or Fri-Thur)

There are good discounts during the Spring Season (June 1 – Jun 27) but during the summer season the prices goes a little higher (Jun 27 – Aug 26)


Experience Required:

Previous experience is not required. Upon your arrival, your “captain” will be given a houseboat orientation. This will consist of familiarization with the lake (assisted by the map provided) and hands-on instruction in driving the houseboat. The features of the houseboat will be explained including the operation of the depth sounders. You will also be shown how to anchor and de/anchor the houseboat. We recommend that you bring along your own fishing boat and motor or canoe to tow behind (we also provide rentals). You must be 25 years of age or older and hold a valid driver’s license to drive the houseboat.


Licensing:

You do not require a boating license (Pleasure Craft Operator Card) to rent a houseboat. Prior to departure you will be provided a safety checklist for review. Be sure to ask any questions if you are not sure. You will be issued a temporary license that is good for your trip. You will need to keep this document readily available if request by officials.

12 volt battery plug-in at the front of the boat 


What to Bring:

Food, drinks, bedding (CANUSA provides pillows and pillow cases) and bring your own toiletries for bathroom. Don’t forget to bring your documents.

Linens:

There are 2 foldout sofas that make into beds, and the dinette area with custom made cushions provides the fifth double bed. You will need to bring your own bedding sheets (but pillows and pillow cases are provided)


Pets:

No pets allowed.


Additional Costs:

There are a few additional costs that you should consider during your vacation and will depend on the duration of your trip and the distance traveled like the fuel, the taxes and the insurance ($25 per day) and a $300 deposit (plus HST) required to ensure reservation (non-refundable).
