Houseboats
Houseboat Adventures offer a number of different houseboats for your pleasure. There are 44', 49', 58' and 68' boats available to ensure you enjoy your vacation and come fully equipped sleeping anywhere from 8 to 16 people. All houseboats include:

Rental Periods
There are a number of flexible rental periods available.

Experience Required
Previous experience is not required. You will be provided full instruction on operating the houseboat, safety requirements, how to read maps, buoys and channel markets. For the first few miles someone will join you to ensure you are comfortable with the houseboat. The designated captain must be 21 years of age or older and hold a valid driver’s license.
Licensing
You do not require a boating license (Pleasure Craft Operator Card) to rent a houseboat. Prior to departure you will be provided a safety checklist for review. Be sure to ask any questions if you are not sure. Once completed you will be issued a temporary license that is good for your trip. You will need to keep this document readily available if request by officials.

Linens (sheets, blankets, pillows, towels) are provided. It is recommended to bring your own beach towels.

There are a number of additional costs that you should budget for during your vacation and will depend on the duration of your trip and the distance traveled. Each operator has different policies and should be discussed directly with them. Some costs will or may include:

Local Weather
May to October weather for Kenora, Ontario, in half-month steps (days 1–15 and 16 through the end of the month). Air, precipitation, and wet days use nearby Kenora Airport observations, about 9 km away (climate ID 6034076).
- Each tile is one half-month from May through October. Early is days 1–15. Late is day 16 through the end of the month. Every tile shows a value.
- Air temperature, precipitation, and wet-day percentage are 2021–2025 daily averages from Environment and Climate Change Canada, Kenora Airport (climate ID 6034076). High and low are the average of each year’s half-month mean, so each year counts equally. A year is included for a variable only when that half-month was observed on at least 80% of its days. Precipitation is the mean of each included year’s half-month total; missing days are not filled in. A wet day has at least 0.2 mm, among precipitation observations in the years included for that half-month. Days flagged missing are left out.
- High and low temperatures leave out early May 2021 (11 of 15 days) and early May 2022 (11 of 15 days). Precipitation includes all five years. Missing days in an included half-month are not filled in. The largest high and low temperature gap in an included half-month is 3 days, in early October 2022. The largest precipitation gap in an included half-month is 2 days, in early October 2022.
- Kenora Airport (climate ID 6034075) daily record ends 13 February 2013. It is one half of the documented composite. These averages use Kenora Airport (climate ID 6034076), 0.3 km away at the same airport.
- Precipitation is liquid equivalent (rain plus the water in any snow), in millimetres per half-month.
- Sunshine is not biweekly. Kenora does not publish bright sunshine, and the 1991–2020 normals do not include that row. Each month’s existing normal is repeated on both of that month’s tiles. Those hours are 1981–2010 normals from Rawson Lake (climate ID 6036904), in the Experimental Lakes Area about 40 km from Sioux Narrows and about 55 km from Kenora, not a 2021–2025 average.
- 94 days in the included half-months are flagged as a trace (under 0.2 mm). A trace counts as dry and adds nothing to the half-month total.
- Tile temperatures are rounded to the nearest degree.
